The regulations in Europe specifically address botanical species containing hydroxyanthracene derivatives, and the substances considered for risk assessment are those found in specific plants like Rheum palmatum, Cassia senna, Rhamnus frangula, Rhamnus purshiana, and Aloe barbadensis. Japanese Knotweed may be available for purchase from certain retail sites. However, these formulations generally have poor bioavailability and are not designed or dosed for use to enhance cognition and behavior. In Neuromodin™, we have developed a proprietary, highly bioavailable formula of Japanese Knotweed that has been specifically designed to be easier for individuals to take and to maximize any potential benefits in learning, memory, and behavior*.
